"Before you had a name or opened up your eyes
Or anyone could recognize your face.
You were being formed so delicate in size
Secluded in God's safe and hidden place.

With your little tiny hands and little tiny feet
And little eyes that shimmer like a pearl
He breathed in you a song and to make it all complete
He brought the masterpiece into the world.

You are a masterpiece
A new creation He has formed
And you're as soft and fresh as a snowy winter morn.
And I'm so glad that God has given you to me
Little Lamb of God, you are a masterpiece.
And now you're growing up your life's a miracle
Everytime I look at you I stand in awe
Because I see in you a reflection of me
And you'll always be my little lamb from God

And as your life goes on each day
How I pray that you will see
Just how much your life has meant to me.

And I'm so proud of you
What else is there to say?
Just be the masterpiece He created you to be."

The other night he asked "How do you say yes and no in tagalog, mommy?"
So I told him "opo" for yes and "hindi po" for no. And told him to use it at Inay's.
So this morning, I asked a question and tried to see if he still remembers, and he does.
Then asked if he used it at Inay's. He said that he did but Tita Rosa didn't understand.
I asked why? I said "hindi" and she didn't understand. I keep saying "hindi" but she keeps "subo-ing" me.

Today is the second class for judo but today you have your uniform. I watched the last part and I am so proud to see you so well behaved and listening and following your Sensei. You're one of the youngest cause the class is big, for kids 6 - 12 years old. It's a big mix of beginners and those who have been doing it for a long time... but really happy to see you sit at the middle of the group in the middle, when told to. doing to exercise, what sensei is teaching. your partner is really bigger than you. and you would come to me to show off your uniform or to ask me if i saw you in the mat with your partner. great job ace!

I had to get up and go to the washroom. Ace woke up, followed me, with tears in his eyes. On the way back to bed, he said he had a nightmare. I asked what happened. He was speaking so softly I had to ask him to say it again. The only part I heard was "we were watching a movie, then you became si..." (something). I asked, "I became sick?" "No! You became sin." "Sin?!?" "No, you became THIN! Not soft anymore." I had to stop myself from laughing. I said that's not a nightmare. That's a nice dream. I like that. He said, "No! I like you like this." As he hugged me. What a nightmare, huh?

A: Mommy, is this the pinky? (holding out his left pinky)
M: Yes. We can pinky swear ... "I love you forever"

A: Mommy, what is love?
M: Love ... you know love.
A: No. what is love?
M: ... It is a feeling, an emotion, when you care for somebody very much.

A: Mommy, what are dates?
M: Huh?
A: Dates
M: You know, the days in the months
A: No! Dates!
M: .... Oh ... when people go out, they have fun... they eat or watch movies (I was so careful not knowing what to say cause he might stop wanting to go out!)

A: What are lovebirds?
M: Lovebirds? The white birds ... like pigeons ( :) ! )
A: No. Lovebirds. Like when bullies say you are lovebirds...
M: Oh... like mommy and daddy. Like those girlfriends and boyfriends like Kuya Patrick and Candice
A: Why?
M: Because they love each other...
A: Why?
M: Because they like being together... they love each other

A: zzzzzzz .... zzzzzzzzz .... zzzzzzz

Mrs. Shields said his face lit up when she she got to your name during their meeting (they have to report about each of you and your classmates) and shared that you are really doing great. xxx oooo xxx

Christmas concert... gave it all his heart singing :)
Mr. Rossi said you are doing great. Emerging as leader in the class.
Must be because you're bossy? :)
Had a slip up today during practice and mom got a call.
You were disrespectful and hitting your head on the other kids. I'm guessing because you are sleepy.... must be bored too cause this is the second day of practice, during the whole class period.
Mr. Rossi said it's ok to have slip ups. Learning not to say bad words... part of learning, that's in the outside world...

I got a phone call from Mrs. Shields... long story. just have to jot it down before I forget. Said the bad word!!! Glenda said that Kevin says it. But you are so remorseful. when you got home and found out i know. i told you i'm sad bec i got a phone call... you went straight to the room and cried really hard. i think the first time i saw you cry like that. looks like you've been putting on a brave face the whole afternoon and just released your feelings with mommy. mrs. shiels talked to you and the deputy principal too. the following day, mr. rossi talked to you that you hurt his feelings when you said the bad word. i guess you have to learn it one way or another. we never told you not to say it because you don't even hear the word. dad even said they should do something about kevin... i told him you have to learn. when you go outside for sure you'll hear it too. and have to learn how to deal with it....

Imaginative children better in math: study
By CP

WATERLOO, Ont. -- Preschoolers who can tell a good story with a cast of imaginary characters are likely to be stronger in math skills a couple of years down the road, a recent study has found. The research, by University of Waterloo psychology professor Daniela O'Neill, is the first in nearly 20 years to establish the links between storytelling and math skills in young children.

Storytelling requires that the child arrange events into a logical sequence, describe the perspectives of the different characters and move back and forth between those characters -- all with vocabulary that can portray the events.

"This is not a simple task for children at all," she said.

But it's only certain parts of the complex skill that help predict the child's math skills later in life, O'Neill found.

SEEING THE STORY

Good storytelling is sometimes measured by how sophisticated the grammar is, or how long the sentences are. Yet those abilities by themselves don't have any connection to how well the child does in math later, O'Neill said.

What does matter is how well a child sees the story from the point of view of different characters, and "how the action moved from one character to the other," O'Neill said.

mommy joined ace and dad to take pictures/video while swimming... last week pala, you went swimming with alexa and tiffany

tonight after i posted this blog, i showed you your blog cause you asked me what i was doing.
we looked at your pictures, up to july 2003 cause i'm that much behind in updating.
then i showed you the main page, and thought i'd let you listen to "masterpiece" again. but this time louder and it's more quiet here cause it's quite late now, 11:00 p.m.
i saw the file for the recorded mommy version of masterpiece where i just read the lyrics of the song... you listened over and over again as i have in your my lap, next time i looked at your face, there were tears flowing down from your eyes.  then i played sandy's song and you are now listening over and over, and even went to the sofa to listen with kumot and everything... and then you asked me something about tita joy.. akala mo yata tita joy put the pieces together :)  you said the puzzle pieces were put together to make ace and then you came out of my tummy and then "i like this world, cause it's a great world to play on"... i've been telling you you were made of mommy and daddy ... equals ace.  you now know how you came out of mommy's tummy, and that daddy saw you go out, head first and that you look like an angel and that you are glowing.  [now i know why you said puzzle pieces... kasi masterpiece :) ]

June 10: "Dad, that's my spot. Dad, move, Dad, move!"
June, sometime last week: knocking on mom's head, "man, man, i want to talk to you for a second"

I should start writing these down... everynight you talk in your sleep. One time even stoop up and walked out to the living room, went to daddy and said "carry me"...

You're so excited! Dad bought you a small swimming pool (the inflatable type) and you guys brought it to Alexa's house. Took sometime to inflate it and fill with water (very little cause it's cold) and it's now almost 9 pm and you're not home yet!!! Very thankful the sun is out and it's hot outside. Hopefully summer is really here.

Oh, Ate Apple and Tito Mac left for the Philippines this morning. Last night you asked Ate Apple if you can go with her. In a few years my love. When you're bigger... eh, older. By the way everyone's saying you've gained a lot of weight ... you did!!! You're now 56 lbs, and shows on your cheeks and your tummy!
